  • The Gulf of Mexico, now filled with thousands of oil pumps and oil extraction platforms to feed our greedy and highly polluting oil based economy, are accountable for constant oil leakages in what it used to be a sea full of life. Adding to the oil problem, there is an alarming issue regarding the chemical fertilizers being used in agriculture that wash away to the Gulf. The irony is that some of those man made oil drilling platforms have become islands of life in the form of vertical reefs where coral, sponges, fishes of all sizes and dolphins feed. I know, something good from something very bad, but this does not justify it.
